First working build: load an export workbook from your drillhole database (one sheet per view), the Data health report, and a log of one hole with lithology, a second coded column, assays, structure and RQD side by side on one depth scale.
Each sample shows its accepted result: passed QC first, then the site’s preferred method, then the latest load. Intervals whose only results are pending or failed QC are shaded.
Print the log as a PDF: A4, A3 or Letter, at 1:100 to 1:1000 or fitted to one page, with the hole details, a legend, the columns on one depth scale, page numbers, and the end of the hole marked. The header repeats on every page.
Significant intercepts, using the rules of the usual database intercept report and improving on them: set a cut-off, minimum width, maximum internal dilution, an optional top cut and an “including” cut-off. Intercepts are listed under the log (e.g. “6.0 m @ 5.56 ppm Au from 16.0 m”), marked on the assay column and printed on the PDF; the table for every hole downloads as CSV, with the collar details and the method in words. Below-detection results count at half the limit instead of breaking an intercept, and short unsampled stretches are bridged and reported. By default each intercept averages the cut-off or better (an intercept whose internal dilution pulls it below the cut-off is split); untick the option for the usual report’s behaviour.
Lithology patterns: the FGDC geologic map standard’s patterns (public domain) over each code’s colour, on screen and in the PDF, with patterned legend swatches. Each code’s first pattern and colour are guessed from its description (granite, tuff, limestone …); download the legend as CSV, change any colour or pattern, and load it back.
Help: a ? beside each area opens its help window, and each tab has a short tour that starts by itself the first time (Take the tour in any help window runs it again). The same help and tours as Analytical Results and Structural Analysis. What’s new shows a dot until you have read the latest notes.
Large workbooks: sheets are read a few MB at a time, so a full export needs about a quarter of the memory it did.
Feedback tab: report a problem or suggest an improvement; it goes straight to the developer, with an optional attachment.
About now has Using the app, Privacy and Terms beside it. Input format, in the header, lists the workbook’s sheets and columns, with the demo workbook as an example.
The family look, as Analytical Results: the log sits on a white card in colour-blind-safe colours, windows are light, every help window links to its page in the manual, and the page fits a phone without scrolling sideways.
New names: this app is Strip Logs, beside Analytical Results and Structural Analysis, all under the Geoscience Analytics brand. The header reads Geoscience Analytics, with Strip Logs under it. Privacy and Terms now name Geoscience Analytics as the business that runs the app.
Report coordinates, under Print: choose a second coordinate set (for example MGA_Z50 for an announcement). The collar in that set shows under the hole, on the PDF, and in the intercept table.
Richer logs: More columns adds any logged field (magnetic susceptibility, sulphide %, an intensity …); value columns can be a line, a line with fill, or filled bars (Template); structures are drawn as lines at their angle from the core axis, leaning by beta, in their type’s colour and line, with a structure legend CSV to change them; intensity fields (alteration intensity, weathering) are coloured on a None to Intense ramp. Lithology names are written in the blocks (or just the codes), and a legend under the log, on screen and on every PDF page, explains every column.
Your settings are remembered: the columns, intercept rules, log height and print options you change come back next time, in this browser only. Reset all, under Rules, puts the defaults back.
Holes logged more than once show one logging only: the lowest PRIORITY the hole has, never mixed with another. Log priority, under Rules, shows another logging instead.
Data health flags a stored grid azimuth that looks 180° out (the back-bearing of the logged azimuth, turned by the grid rotation from the pickup points), and the hole header says so. The value itself is not changed.
Print template: in the Log panel, move columns, set their widths (auto, narrow, normal, wide) and headings, choose what the PDF header shows, add your company, a title, a logo and a footer line, and print portrait or landscape. Download the template to use again or share; this browser remembers it.
Fixed: on screen, assay and other value columns now line up in depth with the lithology column (their scale labels had pushed them down, so an intercept at 0-4 m showed lower). In the PDF, two value columns side by side no longer run their axis labels together.
Every Data health finding now says why it matters, or what probably caused it, and what to do.
