Terms and Conditions of Use
Thank you for using the Geoscience Analytics Toolkit. The Toolkit and the apps in it (QC Analytical Results, and others as they are released) are owned and operated by Geoscience Analytics. By registering for an account or using any app in the Toolkit, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, which include our Privacy Notice. Please review both carefully, and stop using the Toolkit if you do not agree to them.
In these Terms and Conditions, ‘we’, ‘us’ and ‘our’ refer to Geoscience Analytics, ‘the Toolkit’ refers to the sign-in page and the apps together, and ‘an app’ refers to any one of them.
These Terms were last updated on 13 October 2026.
SUMMARY
The Toolkit is currently free to use. To use an app you register for an account, confirm your email address, and wait for us to approve the account. Your account stores the settings you choose to save (for example the rules in QC Analytical Results). The data you upload to an app is processed for your session only and is not stored, unless and until we introduce stored data as a feature, in which case we will update these Terms first. If we introduce paid tiers in future, you will be asked to agree to any charges before you pay anything.
1. ACCESS AND YOUR ACCOUNT
The Toolkit is for geoscientists in industry, academia and education. You register with your name, email address, organisation and whether you are in industry, an academic or a student. We check each registration before switching it on, and we may decline or close an account at our discretion, for example where the details given appear to be false.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done with your account. Choose a password you use nowhere else. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has used your account. “Keep me signed in” leaves you signed in on that computer for up to 30 days; do not use it on a shared computer.
You may close your account at any time from the Account page; this removes the account and everything saved with it.
Each app also offers a demo mode with sample data, so you can see how it works before uploading anything of your own.
2. YOUR DATA
You may upload your own data to an app for analysis (for example QC/assay results in Excel or CSV form). This data is processed in memory on the hosting server, for your session only, and is not stored, copied or retained by us in any form: it is gone as soon as you close the browser or your session ends. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any data you provide, such as a client’s or employer’s confidential results, including any personal information it may contain about others.
The only exception is a file you choose to attach to a message sent from an app’s Feedback tab: that reaches us by email, and we keep it only as long as needed to deal with your message.
The settings an app lets you save (for example rules, stage limits, column choices and print templates) are kept with your account, so they are there on any computer you sign in from. When you are not signed in, an app keeps them in your own browser (its local storage) instead. You can remove saved settings from within the app, or by closing your account.
3. COLLECTION NOTICE
We collect the personal information you give us when you register (your name, email address, organisation and role), what you save with your account, and whatever you provide if you contact us by email or through an app’s Feedback tab. We use it only to run your account and the Toolkit, and to respond to you, as set out in our Privacy Notice.
If you would like more information about how we handle personal information, see the Privacy Notice, or contact us at [email protected] or by post: Geoscience Analytics, First Floor, Swan Buildings, 20 Swan Street, Manchester M4 5JW.
4. ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS AND AVAILABILITY
We are not liable to you or anyone else for interference with or damage to your computer systems in connection with your use of the Toolkit. You should take your own precautions against viruses or anything else that might interfere with or damage your systems.
We may change or add to the Toolkit (including these Terms and Conditions) at any time, without notice. We are not liable to you or anyone else if errors occur in the information in an app or if that information is not up to date.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Unless otherwise indicated, we own the Toolkit software, its design, branding, sample/demo data, and all associated text, graphics and logos. Your use of the Toolkit does not transfer any rights in the software to you; we grant you a licence to access and use it on these Terms.
Any data you upload, and any chart, statistic or output an app generates from that data, belongs to you, and you may use it as you wish, including in your own reports. We claim no ownership over it.
Reproduction or redistribution of the Toolkit software itself (as distinct from your own data and outputs) is not permitted without our consent.
6. UNACCEPTABLE ACTIVITY
You must not do anything unlawful, or prohibited by any laws applicable to the Toolkit, including but not limited to:
- registering with false details, or using someone else’s account;
- uploading data that breaches the privacy or other legal rights of an individual or organisation, including personal information you don’t have consent to process;
- using the Toolkit to defame or libel us or any other individual or organisation;
- uploading files containing viruses or anything else intended to damage our systems or those of other users;
- attempting to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Toolkit or the infrastructure it runs on.
7. PROFESSIONAL JUDGEMENT
The charts, statistics, flags, logs and reports the apps produce help you review your data; they do not replace review by a competent person. You remain responsible for the decisions you make, and for any public reporting (for example under the JORC Code or NI 43-101), based on them. Each app’s own Terms, under its About tab, may add points specific to that app.
8. WARRANTIES AND DISCLAIMERS
To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we make no warranties or representations about the Toolkit or its outputs, including that they will be complete, accurate or up to date, that access will be uninterrupted, error-free or free from viruses, or that the Toolkit will be secure. The Toolkit is provided free of charge, on an as-is, best-efforts basis.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend or withdraw the Toolkit, any app, or any feature of it, at any time without notice, and we will not be responsible for any loss, cost, damage or liability arising as a result.
9. LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we are not liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or expense arising from your use of the Toolkit, its outputs, or its unavailability, including where information or results are incorrect, incomplete or not up to date. Because you retain your own uploaded data and outputs and we do not store a copy, you remain responsible for keeping your own backups of anything you need to preserve beyond the browser session.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
10. JURISDICTION AND GOVERNING LAW
Your use of the Toolkit and these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
