Deal with a re-issued certificate
The lab sent a corrected certificate with the same number. How QC Analytical Results replaces the old one in a project, and what happens to the old results.
At the end the lab’s re-issue is in the project in place of the first certificate. The first certificate’s results stay in use until you accept the re-issue.
A laboratory re-issues a certificate after a query, with the same certificate number. The app treats a number already in the project as a possible re-issue and asks before it replaces anything.
Before you begin
- Signed in, with the first certificate already in the project.
- The re-issued file from the lab.
Steps
- On the Lab files tab, upload the re-issued file under Certificates.
- Choose the same Laboratory above the certificates. Under Keep them?, select Keep in a project, choose the same project, and fill in the despatch as before.
- Select Save to the holding area. The window Re-issued certificates? lists the certificate numbers already in the project.
- Select They replace the old ones. The re-issue goes to the holding area. The first certificate’s results stay in use until you accept the re-issue. Or select Leave them out to save nothing.
- In the Holding area, select the re-issue and read its report. If the query is answered, select Accept.
Result
The project holds the re-issue. Its results are the ones that open with the project, and the first certificate stays in the project’s history.
If something goes wrong
- The window did not appear. The certificate number on the re-issue differs from the first one. The app keeps both as separate certificates. Return the first one to the lab so its results are left out.
- The same file was saved by mistake. The app refuses a file already in the project. Nothing changed.
