Use your own stage names

Can I use my site’s stage names for duplicates? Load a stage list with an RD limit for each, for the account or for one client, and choose a lab duplicate’s stage from it.

At the end a lab duplicate’s stage is chosen from your own stage names, and each is judged against the RD limit you gave it.

Every site names its sample stages its own way, such as “100-Field Duplicate” or “Coarse Reject Duplicate”. Without a list, the app offers its standard stages, such as Crushing Stage and Pulverising Stage. With a list, it offers only yours. A consultancy can give each client its own list. A client with no list uses the account’s.

Before you begin

  • Signed in.
  • A CSV or Excel file with a Stage column, one row per stage. Two columns are optional:
    • RD limit %: the most a duplicate pair may differ, such as 10 for a pulp duplicate.
    • Type: one of the standard stages, such as Crushing Stage or Pulverising Stage. A stage with a type and no limit takes the type’s limit.
  • The template has all three columns. Download it from the Stages pill under Your set-up.

Steps

  1. Scroll to Your set-up and select the Stages pill.
  2. With clients, choose under List your account or a client. With none, the box isn’t shown and the list is your account’s.
  3. Under Add stages, select Choose file… and pick the file. The card says how many stages it read, how many have a limit and a type, and lists anything it could not use.
  4. Select Add these stages to this list. The table lists each stage with its RD limit, its type, and the limit the check uses.
  5. Select a stage’s row to delete it with Delete . Delete the whole list removes them all.

Result

Under Before these can be accepted, a lab duplicate’s stage list now holds your stages. A pulp stage is chosen first where the list has one. The report judges each duplicate against its stage’s limit.

If something goes wrong

  • A limit or a type is not used. A limit is a percentage above 0 and up to 200. A type is one of the standard stages, by name or code. The card names each one it left out, and the stage is kept without it.
  • A stage has no limit or type. The app guesses its limit from the name, as the Overview does. The table shows the limit it uses.
  • A client’s duplicates use the account’s stages. A project uses its client’s list only when the project belongs to the client. Add a client and give it its own set-up.
