Load your QC sheet

How does the Lab files tab know which samples are my CRMs, blanks and duplicates? Load a QC sheet that names them, and the report checks them too.

At the end the report checks your own CRMs, blanks and duplicates, and lists any you sent that did not come back.

The lab’s checks are named on the certificate. Yours carry ordinary sample numbers, so you tell the app which they are. A QC sheet has one row per QC sample: the sample number, its kind, the standard it is, or the original sample it duplicates. A check-sample export from your database works as it is.

Before you begin

  • Your QC sheet as a CSV or Excel file, or The template (CSV) under the Your QC sheet card, filled in. The columns are Sample, Kind, Standard, Original, and optionally Stage. A Prospect column is read too, for a despatch with samples from more than one prospect.
  • Kind is one of crm, blank, field duplicate, coarse duplicate, pulp duplicate, umpire or other.

Steps

  1. On the Lab files tab, under Your QC sheet, select Choose file… and pick the sheet. The card counts the QC samples by kind, for example “3 QC samples: crm 1, blank 1, coarse duplicate 1”.
  2. If the card lists a problem under the count, such as a kind it does not know, fix the row and load the sheet again.
  3. The certificates are checked again. In the report, Your CRMs, Your blanks and Your duplicates appear under What was checked, and a QC sample on the sheet that is not on the certificate is a query.

Result

The report judges your CRMs against your library, your blanks against the detection limit, and your duplicate pairs against the limit for their stage.

If something goes wrong

  • A duplicate’s original is on another certificate. The pair cannot be judged from this certificate alone. The sheet row is kept, and the sample is listed as not on the certificate.
  • Your CRM is not checked. Its certified values are not in your library. Load your CRM certified values.
  • A sample is a QC sample but is not on the sheet. The card These look like the QC samples you inserted offers samples whose values look like a CRM, a blank or a duplicate. Act on a suggestion from the values.
